Arthur Keeling
I picked up the trumpet in middle school but, like most people, started off incorrectly: squeezing my lips
together too hard, not enough air support, too much air, incorrect practice methods, etc. But it wasn’t until my
first trumpet teacher Courtney Jones, a musician signed with Bach that has taught in several different
Universities, that it changed my view of not only playing trumpet, but scheduling my lifestyle in a more
productive enjoyable manner that ultimately created a more sustainable way of staying productive and happy.
My name is Arthur Keeling and I’m a graduate of Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University
of Long Beach with a major in performance. I’ve been playing the horns for 13 years now and have studied
with many incredibly talented teachers/musicians such as: Courtney Jones, Caster Teoh, Edmund Cord, Ryan
Darke, Rob Frear, and Rob Schaer. I am also a previous winner of YoungArts, a foundation and competition
that gives amazing opportunities to future artists such as funding as well as connections to other Alumni. Each
teacher not only taught me how to play, but from observation and inner reflection, taught me how to teach as well.
I look forward to meeting you! 🎺
